Travel often pushes us to rush — to see, to do, to tick off lists. Koh Lanta taught me the opposite. My days started with the sound of waves crashing on the shore just outside my bamboo bungalow. Breakfast was papaya and sticky rice from a roadside stall, eaten slowly under palm trees. Afternoons drifted by in hammocks, interrupted only by dips into the warm Andaman Sea. In the evening, locals lit lanterns that floated into the sky while beach dogs curled up beside fires. It wasn’t about chasing adventure here; it was about remembering how good it feels to simply be.
